Monogram Bags
Human beings have been compared to birds by writers, playwrights,
and other artists for nearly as long as writing and art has existed.
This is as we so greatly enjoy showing off our personalities. This
manifests itself in numerous ways (many of which led to the bird
analogies): fluffy, "big" hair and bright clothes full of ruffles
and other accoutrements, most prominently.
However, such ostentatious form of show isn't everyone's cup of tea;
yet even more modest people like to show themselves to the world, to
display a bit of pride and self-awareness to others, if simply for
themselves. One of the means of accomplishing this is through
displaying monograms -that is, the initials of a person joined
together as a singular letter, just as the American dollar symbol
unites a capital S with two vertical, parallel lines to form a
singular symbol.
Such a unification is quite gratifying to people, especially the
individual so "symbolized." Yet even to a stranger, a monogram bag
with a striking coupling of letters -whether two or all three
initials, can appear quite opulent and attractive.
It is for this reason that monogram bags, in particular, are so
popular. Monograms can also be seen on any form of apparel, clothing
accessories, the back of a car, even a garage door -literally
wherever a person desires. Yet monogram bags are popular not only
for their elegance, but for their functionality.
Monogram bags are useful in that there is never a question as to
ownership. A canvas shopping bag with a person's initials blazoned
across the side deny the casual thief any realistic opportunity of
"relieving" the proper owner of his or her possession. As well, the
unified letters are a wonderful conversation piece, stimulating
discussion that can result in friendship.
A further aspect to monogram bags is that they make a wonderful
gift. Many people would be hesitant to purchase an item that might
display their ego or simply a symbol of their personhood; yet when
received as a gift, it opens up the opportunity to do just this, yet
without guilt as, after all, it was a gift, and so should be used
and displayed.
